What We Do

Connecting people and companies through education, sharing best practices, promoting safe, professional work methods and advocating for the Merit Shop Philosophy is what we do. IEC is who we are.

IEC provides a wide of range of resources including Apprenticeship Programming, Workforce Recruiting, Manpower Sharing, and the Education and Training necessary to keep up with the advancements in our industry. We offer CEU’s and workshops on topics from safety training to company profitability, certification in areas such as Fire Alarm and Burglar Alarm and prep classes for exams including the Journeyman’s Exam and Master’s License.

Representing contractors with 2 employees to more than 500 employees, IEC provides a unified voice in our industry and acts as a Legislative & Regulatory Watchdog – attending legislative sessions, meeting with elected officials, advocating for the needs of merit based electrical contractors and keeping our members up to date with alerts and information on new regulations. IEC also employs a professional lobbying firm to protect and improve our trade at the state and national level.

IEC provides the opportunity to network with more than 80 contractors statewide and 3,000 contractor-members nationwide on job permitting, obtaining labor and joint ventures.

IEC helps individuals that want to get a start in the electrical industry – no experience necessary!  Once employed by one of our contractors, individuals can start our US Dept. of Labor certified electrical apprenticeship program.

And the list is continually growing. Need something specific? Reach out and we can make it happen.
